In America French toast is commonly served as breakfast, in USA is traditional to add toppings cane syrup, honey, or fruit syrups; a dusting of powdered sugar.
Frensh toast or torrija in Spain is the main dish in easter.
In easter all bakeries prepare the most delicious French toast
15 sliced bread
4 large eggs
2 cups milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
3 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp granulated sugar
1/3 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 cup melted butter
In a large bowl, beat 4 eggs and add the milk, brown sugar, granulated sugar,vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Stir well, then add the melted butter, and stir again.
Start soak the bread to our mixture. Let each slice stay in for about 10 seconds.
Spray your pan and place it over medium heat.
Once the pan is hot, add the bread on top.
Toast each side of the our French toast untill is golden brown
